Moderna Vaccine Provides Covid-19 Protection for Monkeys
Moderna’s Vaccine candidate has been successful in animal testing recently. In a test with 16 monkeys, two injections of the vaccine helped to protect against exposure of the virus. No viral replication was detectable only two days after the injection of the monkeys and all 16 monkeys showed signs of protection. If this can be replicated within humans, the vaccine may be able to protect against Covid-19.
The phase 3 trial of 30,000 humans is now underway. The data will be collected in November or December.
