FDA Backs out of Approval for Chinese Made Masks

The FDA has announced that tests have shown that many of the imported N95 masks imported from China have fallen short of standards, leading the government to back out of the emergency export of the Chinese masks to the United States.

The masks “may not provide consistent and adequate respiratory protection to health care personnel exposed to Covid-19,” the FDA said in a letter to health-care providers Thursday.
